You’ll find that I do things differently around here. I believe in equipping my clients with the necessary tools to change their lives, but I feel that part of that tool kit includes knowing the WHY. Knowledge is power, so instead of asking you to blindly follow instructions, i'm here to help you understand the ins and outs of your body and the process so that you can align your actions and mindset with your goals.

Personal Story

My name’s Abby and I am the founder here at Up North Fitness Academy. A health and fitness professional with over 10 years’ experience supporting women through every aspect of their own wellbeing journey.

 

I Love what I do and consider myself truly blessed to work daily with women on a path to health and wellness. From my many years of coaching, however, I have recognized that the mainstream sport and fitness industry can feel intimidating for many women leaving some feeling isolated from it.

I am on a personal mission to change all that! My coaching style is designed to make fitness not just accessible to women but specifically tailored to our needs. Fitness made for us.

My coaching journey began because like many women I’ve had my own struggles with weight management and body image. This led me to seek out the solution to my own woes by quitting my job and becoming a qualified Personal Trainer.

 

As a young and somewhat naïve personal trainer still trying to figure things out though I must say this didn’t exactly have the desired effect. In fact the fitness industry only sought to make me feel even more insecure about myself because I wasn’t naturally stick thin.

 

Fast forward 10 years and thousands of clients later and I now know that my own experiences with health and wellness are what makes me the coach I am today. Unlike many coaches I truly understand the battle surrounding body image for women because I’ve been there, I’ve done the work both physically and mentally and I know what it takes to come out the other side.

Now it’s up to me to share my experiences with you so you can learn from my mistakes and fast track yourself to a happier, healthier you.

Not sure if a program is right for you?

  • I don't have a gym membership and don't feel comfortable working out in a gym can I still do your program?
    Yes, the beauty of our program is that you don't need any fancy equipment or a gym membership to be successful. All of the workouts can be done from the comfort of your own home. We don't care where you do them as long as you do them. You will be asked how you prefer to train upon purchase so we can create the right training style for you.
  • I would like to train with you face to face is this possible?
    100%, if you would like to train with me in person simply get in touch and we can arrange a session together.
  • I haven't exercised in years, will I be too unfit to participate in one of your programs?
    Absolutely not, everybody can take part in my programs. They are designed like this purposefully so they are perfect for beginners.
